Happy International Womens’ Day! Here at Yobota we’re incredibly proud of the amazing women we have on the team. Whether they’re an engineer, a marketer, or anything in between, everyone brings something unique to the table and lends a new perspective. We know that companies flourish when they truly represent the customers they serve, which is why we’re so keen to support a more diverse range of voices every day. Today, we’re highlighting just a few of the wonderful women we’re lucky enough to work with.
Lizzie Chichen - Head of Delivery
As Head of Delivery, it’s my job to ensure a smooth and positive experience for our clients, balancing complex delivery timeframes, stakeholder needs and internal prioritisation to ensure the team have everything they need for successful delivery. Prior to joining Yobota, I was working for Capco, a business and technology consultancy where I was heavily involved in large scale digital projects for major retail banks across the globe. My areas of specialisation include idea generation and qualification, and end to end management of product development and delivery. Since joining Yobota I’ve worked across many areas from sales to production support; working closely with clients to understand propositions and ensure their needs are met. Outside of my work life in technology and financial services, I'm very into interior design and high fashion - often boring most of the guys at work about the latest trends and always on the look out for something new!
Freddi Rose - Head of Marketing
Since joining Yobota it’s been a fantastic whirlwind getting the team off the ground and kicking off activities from email marketing and Customer Relationship Management, to speaking opportunities, events and even a full website rebuild. Working closely with Sabreen, we’ve been able to pull together more activities and initiatives than I could have hoped for in this time, and delivering our first new client via an inbound lead was a real highpoint for our little team. Prior to Yobota I led the content and editorial for Lloyds Banking Group’s Fintech division, having previously shaped, launched and embedded their internal creative agency. Prior to this I worked with the biggest tech company no one’s ever heard of (Arm), where I led product launches and global marketing for CPUs and multimedia processing, covering topics from VR to AI and everything in between. I’m a giant word nerd at heart and get through more books than I can count, so I can usually be found reading when I’m not fighting my ancient cat for lap space to paint or draw. I also love travelling and visiting new places, and am desperately trying to improve my terrible lack of other languages - starting with French; wish me luck!
Amrita Thind - Application Support Analyst
I joined Yobota nearly two years ago working within the Application Support Team and it has been an amazing journey thus far. As part of the Support team, I'm responsible for providing round the clock solutions to both internally and externally created incidents (this includes being on a 24 hour on-call rota), performing in depth quantative/root cause analysis and delivering datafixes to resolve issues, monitoring and configuring operating systems to ensure the platform remains operational for our clients and deploying application upgrades and patching across multiple environments.
Prior to joining Yobota, I was working in the Support team at a real estate management software company, which was my first job after graduating with a degree in Physics. Outside of work, I'm a big fan of sports and enjoy watching almost anything! My most recent obsession has been curling! Alongside that, I'm trying to conquer every pub quiz in London, but that's slow progress...
Sasha Mazhar- Head of People
As Head of People, I’ve built and embedded the HR infrastructure and people strategy for Yobota, enhancing operational and security compliance processes as well as leading the complex move to hybrid working to make sure it works for everyone. As part of the senior management team I manage a variety of key stakeholder relationships and my day to day involves overseeing talent development, culture, engagement, and recruitment, to deliver an inclusive HR function that nurtures high growth across our rapidly scaling business. Our work on improving workplace engagement was recognised when Yobota achieved the 2021 Best Companies ‘Ones to Watch’ award based on positive workplace engagement, which was a very proud moment for me. Prior to my time at Yobota, I’ve worked in creative, media and PR industries, having managed the growth of HR functions for large-scale international businesses across the EMEA markets and supporting business executives on implementing company strategy. I frequently contribute advice and insight on key HR topics across various platforms in the industry and was recently voted one of the Top 25 Women Leaders in Fintech by the Financial Technology Report, for the second year in a row, so it’s great to see that the work we’re doing here is paying off. Outside of work I love live music of all sorts, and am a bit of a metal head at heart. I also like to travel as much as I can and dabble in writing, acting and production when I have the time!
Harriet Morrison - Mid SQL Dev
I've been with Yobota for about four months now as an SQL developer, and I feel like I've come home. Both the role and the company feel like a perfect fit for me, not something I've always been able to say! I started my career in software testing and my journey has included data remediation, GDPR compliance, business analysis and sharepoint implementation, with everything from a small bespoke software vendor to one of the largest companies in the world. I love the creative side of things though, so I was delighted to have the opportunity to move into development full time. My mixed professional background is reflective of a broad range of interests generally - I studied physics, have always loved music, especially playing the flute, and enjoy a variety of crafts. Lesser known interests include snowboarding (when we're allowed to travel!) and complementary healthcare. I'm also a firm believer in the importance of mental health and in recognising and supporting neurodiversity. The more perspectives you bring to the table, the better the solution is likely to be, and whether an idea makes the final cut or not, they're all an important part of the process.
